A South-African woman who lent out her son to her neighbour Mchunu, has cried out for help.
Abongile Nojahi, 25-year-old said.
“This is so hard. I dont sleep at night because I just lie awake and worry about where he is”
Nojahi had told Times Live that she lent her son to a 17-year-old Zanele Mchunu on Saturday and her son has been missing for over a week.
She narrated how it happened. “She came to my house and asked if
she could ‘borrow ‘my baby and I said that was fine. She said she would
come back. I gave her my baby and by the time Sunday came‚ she hadn’t returned.”
Nojahi explained that leaving her baby with her neighbour wasn’t a
strange thing to do, as she has granted her neighbour such request in
times past. She also added that she has known her for a year now.
She said she called Mchunu’s phone severally but it rings without any response whatsoever.
The police have intervened into the matter. Speaking through its
spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, an appeal was made requesting
anyone with information or whereabout of both the little boy and Mchunu
to put a call through to the Warrant Officer SV Mhlongo on 031 508 2330
or 073 254 2512 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
